   A social media scheduler with funnel analytics and posting logic

   The funnel analytics I built to catch broken activation had a broken event of its own. Here's how I found it. Follow-up to last week's post, where the same instrumentation caught a paying customer being failed by my own code in real time. This week I turned it on the number I actually care about and it fell apart under its own weight. Bootstrapped social media scheduler, solo dev, fourteen months in. 115 accounts, one sale to date, still zero external publishes. WHAT I WAS TRYING TO MEASURE The full funnel from Aug 23 onward: signup, onboarding, connect a platform, open the composer, schedule a post. The step I cared about most was the last one, because everything upstream of it has been picked apart for months and this hadn't. connect\_screen\_viewed: 70 connect\_clicked: 19 connect\_succeeded: 13 compose\_opened: 33 post\_scheduled: 1 That last row is the one I wrote this post about. THE BUG post\_scheduled fired as the first line of the publish handler, before the guard clause a few lines down that returns early for empty content, an over-limit post, no platform picked, or media still uploading. It measured "the function was called," not "a post exists." A second, separate implementation of immediate publishing, which is what the actual Post Now button calls, never fired it at all. So 1 is not "one person scheduled a post." It's an unknown number of clicks, of unknown outcome, with an entire code path excluded from the count. WHY IT MATTERED BEYOND THE NUMBER Chasing why that second path had no tracking, I found it also never granted the first-post credit bonus and never updated the user's posting streak. Two separate functions were doing "someone just published," and only one of them had the reward logic attached. They'd been written months apart and nobody had ever diffed them against each other. THE FIX Moved the event into the API route that actually inserts the post row, after the insert succeeds, so it can only fire when a post is real. That route is shared by the single-post, thread, and A/B test compose flows, so all three are now covered by one call instead of three separate ones that would each need remembering. Extracted the credit and streak logic into one shared function both publish paths call. WHAT I'D TELL ANOTHER SOLO FOUNDER An analytics event answers "did the code run," not "did the thing succeed," unless you put it after the part that can fail. If your funnel has a step that only fires from a button's onClick, go check whether it fires before or after the network request. Mine was in the wrong spot for months and looked completely reasonable sitting there. Also filed TikTok's audit for public posting this week, unrelated to any of this but worth mentioning since it's the next real lever if it clears. Happy to go into the event schema or the credit-pool split if either is useful to anyone building something similar.

   socialmate.studio: a social media scheduler for solo founders

   2,937 visitors this month, 156 accounts, 36 connected a platform, 0 external users have published. Where would you dig first? Solo founder, social media scheduler, socialmate.studio. I'm not asking you to sign up, I want help reading my own numbers. Last 30 days from Vercel Analytics: 2,937 visitors, 4,777 page views, 85% bounce. Mostly Google and Bing, plus some from TikTok and ChatGPT. Visitors per page: / 345, /login 265, /signup 105, /onboarding 65, /dashboard 53. More people hit login than signup and I can't tell if that's returning users, people who think "sign in" is how you start, or something weirder. Lifetime: 156 accounts (not counting four of mine), 19 of those from the last week. 36 connected a platform, and nobody outside my own accounts has ever published a post. One sale, an annual plan, who left within the hour because of a bug of mine that's fixed now. Two questions: 1. 45% of my visitors are in Singapore and 19% in China. I don't believe any of them are customers. Bots or crawlers? Is there a clean way to filter that out so I stop staring at fake numbers? (Is there a way to block bots/crawlers?) 2. If these were your numbers, which step would you attack first: landing to signup, signup to connecting a platform, or something I'm not seeing? Honest roasts of the landing page are welcome too. I do build with AI, however, I'm trying my best and doing what I can for it to not look like some ai slop and for it to actually have use and functionality.

   AutoTube: generate and publish youtube videos with ai

   6 months ago I launched my SaaS. Today it crossed $1,000 revenue and $414 MRR About 6 months ago I launched AutoTube. Today I got this email from TrustMRR saying it crossed **$1,000 in verified revenue**. This probably isn't a huge number compared to some of the revenue screenshots you see here, but this one means a lot to me. I built it while working a full-time software engineering job. In the beginning I had the classic SaaS problem: people were signing up, using the product, generating videos... but almost nobody was paying. At one point I had hundreds of users and only a few paying customers. I kept working on it instead of abandoning it. I improved the video generation, added longer videos, AI clips, lip sync, a proper editor, YouTube publishing, automation, changed pricing, worked on SEO, emailed users, and honestly tried a bunch of things that didn't work too. Slowly, people started paying. First one customer. Then a few. And now **$414 in recurring monthly revenue**. The biggest thing I've learned so far is that building the product was actually the easier part for me. Distribution, positioning and figuring out *why someone should pay* have been much harder. I'm still nowhere near where I want this to be, but today is probably the first time I've looked at it and thought: **Okay... maybe this can actually become a real business.** Next target is **$1,000 MRR**. For founders who went through the $300–$500 MRR stage, what made the biggest difference in getting you to $1k?

   A tool that speeds up TikTok post creation

   Finally $100 MRR after 2 month of hard work . Have you ever spent an hour creating a TikTok post that gets 200 views and zero users? I did that enough times that I started questioning whether marketing was harder than building.I have a few apps, and like most indie hackers, I was constantly looking for ways to get more users. Everyone kept saying the same thing: "Post consistently on TikTok." The problem wasn't posting.The problem was everything before posting. Coming up with hooks. Finding slideshow images. Writing captions. Repeating the same process every single day. After a few weeks, I realized I was spending more time creating content than building the products I actually wanted people to use. So I built a small internal tool for myself to speed up the whole process. I wasn't thinking about a startup. I just wanted to save time. I started using it for my own apps and it genuinely made things easier. More importantly, I was finally posting consistently because the process no longer felt like a chore. After some time, I started noticing that the content was actually bringing in users and conversions. That's when it clicked. If I was struggling with this, other solo developers were probably struggling with it too. So I cleaned it up and let a few other developers try it. Today, 4 of them are paying customers. And those 4 customers pushed me past $100 MRR. I know $100 MRR isn't going to change my life but seeing people pay for something that started as a scrappy internal tool is honestly one of the most satisfying moments I've had as an indie hacker. The biggest thing I've learned is that sometimes your best product idea isn't found through market research It's hiding inside the problem that's annoying you every single day.

   The quietest bug I've shipped: a feature that worked perfectly and was completely invisible 121 installs, zero reviews. Here's what I got wrong. I built a Chrome extension for identifying songs in Shorts and Reels. It's been live about a month, it's free, 121 installs, and it has zero ratings. Zero. My first thought was the usual suspects: the listing doesn't convert, the niche is too small, nobody cares. Then I went and read my own code instead of guessing. The review prompt existed. It was fine, well placed, good copy. It just lived in the extension popup — and the button 90% of my users actually click is a floating button on the video itself. The result shows up in the page. The popup never opens. So the prompt was rendered into a panel that wasn't on screen. 121 installs, 121 people who have no idea they were ever asked. I guess my question is bigger than reviews: how do you audit the path between "user got value" and "user got asked"? Because I shipped a prompt that had never once been displayed, and I only found out because the review count was zero. Zero is a very quiet bug — nothing errors, nothing looks broken, the metric is just a flat line. Has anyone else shipped something that worked fine and was still completely invisible to the people using it?

   ReelDrop: instagram creator tools for beta testers and paid users

   My SaaS has crossed $1100 MRR in 49 days ​ Edit: I mistakenly wrote MRR, its the net revenue after 49 days Every single user and every single penny gives me the excitement that my 9-5 job has lost When I started building this, I started with my own problems as an Instagram creator to solve all those problems, and how can I make it better? At the same time, I reached out to a few of my creator friends who I thought could be a great beta tester for this product because they might be using a similar product or they might be having the same problem that I had. A few of them enrolled into the beta because I had to wait for around 2-3 months to get all the approvals from Meta. As I am using official Instagram APIs for every feature that we are building on this platform, I had enough time to do the market research to work on SEO to do the initial analysis of what my app should be after it's been fully launched, and then I was constantly in touch with all the beta testers to gather their feedback, their feature requests, and their issues that they are facing. 49 days later we are at 800+ users with 13+ paid users. The starting spike in the graph that you see is the day of the launch when I had three lifetime deals, and the later graphs were a couple of yearly deals being sold, and now I am getting one paid user on every other day for the past few days, which is great. Most of the traffic is coming from ChatGPT and my building in public on X and some from Instagram. But SEO has been great help so far. I've started doing the public outreach using Instagram DMs and X. Let's see how it goes Sometimes we just overcomplicate things in our minds, thinking, "Why would someone want this product?"
