Three days ago, I started building Pippa. Today: five early users and my first community demo. 🚀 Pippa is a personal scheduling assistant you can message on WhatsApp. I’m building it to solve a problem I have myself—and learning in public as I go. Here’s how I’ve approached the journey so far: 🧭 Start with the user journey. What is someone trying to get done with scheduling meetings? What should the assistant ask, remember, and do next? That gives me a starting point for deciding what to build. 📋 Keep the work in one place. I use Linear as the single source of truth for bugs and features. Real conversations with the bot are already turning into concrete things to improve. 🛠️ Use OpenAI Codex intensively throughout the process. Brainstorming. Writing code. Building the landing page. Shaping the launch message. And, yesterday, preparing my presentation. Yesterday morning, I received an invitation to speak at the Agentic Night event hosted by GlobalAI SG community meetup at IMDA. By that evening, I was demoing Pippa. I spent about an hour preparing the slide deck and speaker notes with Codex’s help. 🎤 Several people wanted to know how I built the app. That’s the part I want to share more of: the customer journey, the decisions, the tools, and the bugs we discover along the way. It’s early. There’s plenty to improve. Having five people willing to try it gives me a much better way to learn what matters next. 🌱 Want to try Pippa and help shape it?
